Take the road left past Cuddystone Hall, toward the Lambden valley and you will come to Sutherland bridge. You can cross over the bridge or through the ford.

Perhaps built by Sir James Sutherland who i believe lived in Hethpool House before WW 2

Thank you for your suggestion. Sir James seems to have been a very interesting man – but it was Sir Arthur Munroe Sutherland who owned the valley and built the bridge
